Coaching Engagement Overview

You’ll decide what works best for you and your clients after spending some time in coaching practice. We’re all different and attract different audiences who need different types of support. The coaching plan that makes sense for one client may not for another. We do need a standard option in place that will work for most of the clients we work with. We can tailor others as we become more acquainted with the needs of our audiences.

Things to Consider

  • A two-three-month coaching engagement is typical
  • Beginning with weekly meetings is ideal to build the relationship, establish groundwork, and momentum for progress
  • Tapering down to bi-weekly as you near the finish line of a three-month or longer engagement prepares the client to gently detach from the coach’s support

Example Standard Coaching Engagement

For your typical coaching client

  • First Month
    • Four sessions conducted once weekly
    • The first session serves as the intake session
  • Second Month
    • Three sessions conducted once weekly for the first three weeks followed by an off week for the fourth week
  • Third Month
    • Two sessions conducted once bi-weekly

For your targeted coaching client

  • First Month
    • Four sessions conducted once weekly
    • The first session serves as the intake session
  • Second Month
    • Two sessions conducted once bi-weekly
